French Lavender

Grandmother's Incredible Remedy

Among the safest of all essential oils, lavender is also one of the most antiseptic.  This antiviral and anti-fungal oil treats lung, sinus, vaginal, and skin infections and reduces inflammation and relieves muscle pain and headaches.  It is suitable for all complexion types and hastens the healing of skin cells, so it's used on burns, sun-damaged skin, wounds, and rashes.  It also relieves the pain of injuries by numbing nerve endings.
Lavender can be used to treat oily skin and acne and prevents scarring and stretch marks and reputedly slows the development of wrinkles.
A lavender massage oil or bath improves digestion and boosts immunity.  Of several fragrances tested by aromatherapy researchers, lavender was most effective at relaxing brain waves and reducing stress.  It also eliminated almost one-quarter of computer errors made by office workers.
Lavender acts as a sedative and an anti-depressant and can reduce the stress that causes asthma flare-ups. Used to relieve nervousness, anxiety, difficulty in falling asleep, stomachaches, middle ear infections, burns, eczema, insect bites and other skin inflammations Lavender is one of the few essential oils that is safe to use "neat" or undiluted, on the skin.
Testimony:  My husband had been in the hospital for over six weeks due to tumors on his spine that compressed and almost severed his spinal cord. This sort of injury besides not being able to walk, can easily send him into panic or anxiety attacks.
The first time we where able to bring our dogs to visit him outside in front of the hospital. A man was waiting for his wife who was working in the ICU unit that day and as he saw her he started chasing and shot her three times. As soon as we heard the shots we all ran into the lobby, My son took my husband back to his room.
We went home and when we called his room he was hyperventilating and sounded like he had been running for miles, I told him to use his lavender, to put it on his forehead, temples, back of neck and to inhale as deep as possible. I called back 5 minutes later and his voice was back to normal and the panic attack had stopped.  Rosa Velasquez,

Lavender stopped pinched finger pain

My 3 yr old grandson, while attempting to get in the car by himself, pinched his finger in the door handle. Crying and calling for grandma he showed me his finger. I immediately grabbed the closest oil in my purse - Lavender (St Marie's) and dripped some on it. Not only did he IMMEDIATELY stop crying but the black mark on his finger left by the door grease just disappeared. Karen Collins

Smashed finger with hammer

While hanging a picture I smashed my left index finger with the hammer and I was hammering very hard. I immediately applied an ice cube to stop the throbbing, swelling, bruising but the ice only intensified the pain so bad that after about a minute I gave up Then I tried the Lavender oil. I only applied a drop, rubbed it on the nail and the pad of my finger and almost immediately the pain was gone. Here's the best part though. I was dreading the bruised/black nail and the sensitivity that goes along with that, but I had nothing. No mark on my nail, no bruising, no tenderness, no throbbing, nothing. The next day I couldn't even tell I had smashed my finger with the hammer. I can't remember but I may have applied one more drop of Lavender that night, but still, two drops of Lavender and my finger was great the next day!  Susan Cook
